17 Beagles were rescued by Triangle Beagle  Rescue, from the Person County Shelter at the beginning of August.

In July twenty four dogs, including 17 Beagles, were rescued from a horrible living situation, were brought to the Person County Shelter. The shelter was overwhelmed, and the beagles were 3 deep in the shelter runs. Person County reached out to us to see if we could help. Our foster families stepped up BIG and we were able to rescue all seventeen of the beagles in early August!

Claire was one of the beagles from this group. Like her buddies, she came to the rescue covered in fleas and with an array of health issues. She was missing a good amount of hair and scratched incessantly.  Claire blossomed in her loving foster home and quickly learned how to dog. Claire, and all of her Person County pals, found loving homes and are now living the good life as cherished family members.

Honey, who tragically lost her own puppies, adopts an orphaned litter

Triangle Beagle Rescue tells us:  “Beagle mom Honey came to Triangle Beagle Rescue with her four tiny puppies all the way from Kentucky. The little family was settled into their loving foster home and seemed to be doing well. Sadly, one morning their foster mom found that three of four puppies had passed away in the night. About that same time, another veterinary office from reached out, asking for Triangle Beagle Rescue’s help with an unwanted litter of newborns. We immediately said yes and hoped this new litter would give Honey an opportunity to heal from her loss.

When the orphaned puppies arrived at their foster home, Honey’s maternal instincts kicked right in. She tenderly embraced the newcomers, fostering a connection that would defy the odds and warm our hearts. She is now caring for her one remaining pup, Sweetheart, and five adopted pups — Cupid, Cupcake, Kisses, Lovey & Archer.”  [2024]
